I used to look at other lettering work before I started lettering. How?! I need to learn how to do that. I didn’t have any friends who were lettering yet, so I was unsure of where to start. I decided to give lettering a try one day and used the basic tools I had in my dorm room, including a pencil, a Sharpie, and graph paper.

I couldn’t figure out why. It’s hard to figure out how to fix the problem if you don’t understand it.

I loved lettering and continued to do it, but I was never sure if any of the design choices I was making were correct. I learned by trial and error as I practiced.

The curriculum for the course.
