M.Hazewinkel – HandBook of Algebra (Vol I & II)

M.Hazewinkel has a handbook of math.

There are many different ideas, concepts and results in math. The number of different items could be between 50,000 and 200,000. Many of these have been named and many more could be named. The nonspecialist is likely to encounter most of these, either somewhere in the literature, hidden as a definition or a theorem, or to hear about them and need more information. If this happens, one should be able to find enough information in the Handbook to judge if the quest is worthwhile.

There are references to books, articles, and notes in the Handbook to help the reader. An excellent index has been included which is extensive and not limited to definitions.

The. There is a handbook of math. The third volume of articles from twelve different sections will be published as they are received. Accepted articles will be published quickly and the outline of the Handbook can be changed as the various volumes are published.

Professional mathematicians working in an area other than their own with enough information on the topic in question if and when it is needed is an important function of the Handbook.
