American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) has more than 150,000 DOs and medical students in the US. He works with the Board of Trustees, affiliated associations and staff to execute the AOA’s programs. The chief medical officer for hospital-based services, the chief risk officer and the executive director of the patient safety organization were previously held by Dr. Klauer. He was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. In January 2015, he joined TeamHealth after 15 years with Emergency Medicine Physicians. serving in many capacities. He was a member of the board of directors for both Physicians Specialty and the EMP Medical Group. Outside of full-time professional work, Dr. Klauer is involved in a number of health care organizations. He received an award from the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. In October 2016 he was elected to the American College of Emergency Physicians board of directors. He is the medical editor-in-chief for ACEP Now and the editor-in-chief for Emergency Physicians Monthly. He received the Robert Dougherty ACEP/EMF Teaching Fellowship and the ACEP National Faculty Teaching Award. Beth and her husband, Jeff, live in Vermont with their two children, Evelyn and Sam. Beth completed her residency in Family Medicine in Alaska in 2012 after graduating from UNE COM in 2009. She is a hospitalist at the Central Vermont Medical Center. When not working, Beth enjoys skiing, walking, spending time with friends and family, and most of all watching garbage television.
