JOY R. SAMUELS is a doctor. He has over 25 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor. She is a professor at the Candler School of Theology and the United Methodist Church Course of Studies. She supervises those seeking licensure as a LPC-MHSP and maintains a private counseling practice.

Dr. Samuels received his degrees from a seminary in Washington, DC. She holds an M.S. degree in counseling psychology from California State University, Northridge, CA, and a counseling certificate in substance abuse from the Northern Virginia Community College, Annadale, VA. She has expertise in individual, couples and family counseling, trauma and bereavement, and post-masters supervision.
