I showed off my first proper form one-armed-one legged pushup at midnight Friday. Four and half months of work on the core of the system ended with the one-legged squat and one armed pushup. The book teaches pistol squats and arm push-ups. In order to amplify the strength of the muscles I expected to do these movements, Pavel explains how to recruit other muscles. I discovered The Naked Warrior almost a year ago. I spent five months on a walker after the wreck because I had no fitness investment in my life. I used the pulley machines at the local gym in my rehabilitation, but I had reached a point where I was no longer able to use my leg. I stumbled over some things. I was frustrated and unstable.

I think everyone should read Naked Warrior. Naked Warrior shows you how to use proper technique to keep you safe whileunlocking your strength potential. I meet a lot of people with back problems because they don’t lift objects safely. NW is written in a way that makes you want to keep reading. While it is easy to finish reading NW in a couple of hours, I encourage you to take your time and read actively by taking notes in the margins and stopping to try the techniques.

I tried the one arm push up when I read the first few pages of NW. I had a background in power lifting and thought I would be able to get one on the right side. I was able to crank out a couple of OAPU on each side after reading a few more pages about the technique. It was necessary to learn the technique.

The High Tension Techniques have been used with all of my grinds. NW has been helpful since I have to travel internationally every year. I know I can train using NW, so I don’t worry about losing my conditioning. I used the Naked Bear workout to do a circuit of handstand pushups, pistols, and pull ups.

Parting Shot: Naked Warrior is my favorite book. The results are dramatic and immediate as well as applicable to a variety of situations.
