In the spring of 2009, I was talking on the phone with Adyashanti about ideas for a new book and audio series. I mentioned that I wanted to publish a book of his teachings that would be welcoming to people who are new to the spiritual path, a book that would have reach as well as depth. The more I teach, the more I realize that the most important part of any teaching is the basics. People who are newcomers as well as people who have been on the path for decades derive tremendous benefit when I talk about spiritual insights in a clear way.
