Where did the sleight of mouth come from?

Sleight of Mouth is a result of the debate skills of Richard Bandler. Bandler and Grinder analyzed and codifying the methods of many people. Robert Dilts applied the same methodology to Bandler. Bandler would challenge participants to use their newly acquired skills to convince him that a belief system adopted for the occasion was incorrect. Bandler was always able to field an army of responses to turn their arguments around. Dilts was fascinated to discover that he was beginning to discern the patterns Bandler used. Dilts created an elegant mind map of the patterns and made it very easy to use.

Since I have too many responsibilities, I can’t get to the gym and work out, that’s perfect for a Sleight of Mouth treatment The syllogism is a complex equivalence. Statement A, Too many responsibilities, means statement B, I can’t work out. That might be true, but it is not.

You could say, It’s not that you have too many responsibilities, it’s that you have disorganized activities, using the Sleight of Mouth pattern.

The hierarchy of criteria is a pattern you could use. You could ask, Aren’t it more important to take care of your self and your health than to be so micro-managing?
