You're Not Good Enough Steve Andreas – You’re Not Good Enough

Description

There is a desperate need for rapid and effective ways of working with people who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Current treatment approaches are not very effective. The Iraq vet I worked with recently talked about her previous 5 years of treatment.

I think I saw 8 or 9 different shrinks, and all they wanted to do was give me meds, and then they had all these stupid things they wanted to do, like a tapping thing where you thought about the war and they did this tapping thing, and that was supposed to make it It was stupid for them to follow the finger while you thought about the bad. That didn’t do anything, it just kind of pissed me off, and I was off to the next shrink. It was a waste of time. When we came back, they didn’t give us any of the tools I taught her, so I like having them now. I have a way to deal with everything and make it better.

Any unpleasant memory of an event that continues to trouble someone is sometimes referred to as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. A deprived childhood, repeated failure in school or business, or being dumped by a lover are all possibilities. It’s very very. It is unpleasant, but not life threatening. The DSM 5 criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder are fairly specific. An exposure to a life-threatening event. , Multiple symptoms persist and don’t resolve over time. See the section at the end of the article for more detailed diagnostic criteria.

Several men were killed in Iraq when an IED exploded while Bill was driving the lead Humvee. Bill has trouble sleeping because of nightmares reliving the explosion, and frequent daytime flashbacks whenever he hears a loud noise. The core ofPTSD is a phobic response to the terrifying event itself, and can usually be successfully treated using the NLP phobias cure, in which Bill can learn how to view the event as if he were a bystander. For some sufferers, this is all there is. Chapter 7 contains the description of John. The heart of the mind. This is an example. He had a session with the cure.

There may be. Many. The core phobic response, even by experts in the field, is often confused with other aspects that contribute toPTSD. The core phobic response requires a different intervention to achieve resolution. Some of these are related to the incident. Before that. Or After. There was a traumatic event. Let’s take a closer look at Bill’s experience to understand the additional aspects.

There are aspects that are closely associated with time. It’s not like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it Bill felt guilty for the deaths that resulted because he ignored the pop bottle at the side of the road that could have been a marker for an IED. Bill is grieving the death of his best friend. Bill shot at anything that moved, including two women and several children, and he feels terrible about killing them.

There were aspects that developed after. It’s not like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it Bill lost his lower legs in the explosion, so he is grieving the loss of many different sports and activities. He has a traumatic brain injury and is depressed because of the difficult task of adapting to these disabilities. He was in a relationship with a woman. She dropped him like a hot rock and deprived him of love and support when he needed it the most. His rages became worse when he started drinking too much.

There were aspects that developed before. It’s not like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it Bill had suffered verbal and physical abuse from his father, and he internalizes this voice, which constantly criticized him no matter what he did. Bill had been in the red zone for almost a year. He had become hypervigilant, sleeping poorly, and ready to respond with violence because of the constant anxiety. Bill entered the army as an idealistic gung-ho warrior, but he had already become disillusioned by the reality of war, and decided that it was a tragic and futile waste, making his burdens meaningless.

Depression, anxiety, hypervigilance, violence, disillusion, regret, grief, shame, physical disability, loneliness, insomnia, rages, drug use, self-criticism, and so on are some of the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. In a perfect storm of chaos and emotional instability, each of these tends to make the other aspects worse. The training teaches how to work with each aspect using different processes that are appropriate for the job.

The DSM 5 has a summary of diagnostic criteria. Exposure to actual or threatened death, serious injury or sexual violation are thetriggers to post traumatic stress disorder. The exposure must result from one or more of the following scenarios.

  • directly experiences the traumatic event;
  • witnesses the traumatic event in person;
  • learns that the traumatic event occurred to a close family member or close friend (with the actual or threatened death being either violent or accidental); or
  • experiences first-hand repeated or extreme exposure to aversive details of the traumatic event (not through media, pictures, television or movies unless work-related).

DSM-5 pays more attention to the behavioral symptoms that accompany post-traumatic stress disorder and proposes four distinct diagnostic clusters instead of three. They are described. Re-experiencing. , avoidance , Negative thoughts and feelings. And It’s arousal. .

Re-experiencing. It covers the memories of the traumatic event, recurrent dreams related to it, and intense psychological distress.

There is avoidance. Distressing memoxadries, thoughts, feelings or external reminders of the event are what it refers to.

There are negative thoughts and moods. There is a wide range of feelings, from a persistent and distorted sense of blame of self or others, to estrangement from others, to an inability to remember key aspects of the event.

Finally, that’s it. It’s arousal. It is marked by aggressive, reckless, or self-destructive behavior. The fight and flight aspects of post-traumatic stress disorder are included.
