Dr. Hoy is a doctor.

The Director of Bands at Northern Arizona University has more than thirty years of experience in a variety of performance, conducting, and arts education management roles. She was a guest conductor with the Flagstaff Festival of the Arts Orchestra, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the Eugene Ballet Company, the Memphis Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with Ballet Memphis, the Tucson Pops Orchestra, the Mesa Symphony, as well as high school regional and all-state bands.

Dr. Hoy wants to help others understand the value of arts-based learning. She blends the powerful lessons that come from her diverse background as an arts administrator, conductor, performer, and higher education professor with the natural elements of the artistic process to shape multi-disciplinary learning experiences for students, educators, individuals, businesses, and organizations.

Pat is the author of a book. Awareness of the arts. Awakening Creative Consciousness in Everyday Life is a fieldbook. . A series of publications and presentations about the depth of knowledge that can come from arts-based learning can be found in her book.

Pat draws from her vast experience to share stories that demonstrate how experiences in the arts can lead to more conscious decision-making, increased productivity, enhanced communication, better relationships, and creative thinking. The deeper learning that can help students thrive is what Arts Awareness is for. It is for organizations that face the difficult task of thriving in a rapidly changing world. It is for anyone who wants to succeed and love what they do.
