The most current trend line can be drawn by the Sniper Trend indicator for ThinkorSwim.
I applied the Polynomial Regression Channel and Sniper Trend studies to 5 minute charts for day trading. I had great success using these studies.

The Automatic Trend Line indicator can be used to identify trends based on pivot points. What if you need to know what the trend is? What if you are a trader who wants to take a quick shot and make a killing in the market? You need a tool for the job. You need a trend.
The indicator works on any time frame, with any instrument, and can be configured to meet the user’s needs. It is suited for traders on a daily basis.
The settings panel can be used to set the length and offset.
The length is used to calculate the trend line.
The trend is pushed back. You can see the image for a demonstration.
The current candle is used to determine the trend. The trend may change as the current price changes. The offset should be set to a value of 1 or higher if one is looking for a break-out.
The user can draw the trend lines from either the candle wicks or bodies.
The bars that are being used for trend determination are shown above the candles. They can be turned off from the settings panel.
