Topics in statistical theory are covered in this graduate textbook. The first chapter gives a quick overview of the concepts and results of measure-theoretic probability theory. There are some fundamental concepts in statistical decision theory in the second chapter. There are studies on some important topics in Chapters 3-7. Many additional results are provided by a large number of exercises in each chapter.

Chapter 1 is a self-contained chapter for probability theory with emphasis on statistics in the new edition. The topics have been added to include useful moment inequalities, more discussions of moment generating and characteristic functions, conditional independence, Markov chains, martingales, Edgeworth and Cornish-Fisher expansions, and proof to many key theorems. A number of new exercises were added to each chapter as a result of a new section in Chapter 5.
