The Directional Relative Volatility Index (DRV) is a very powerful indicator which shows the return on net price change over a given period. It’s ideal for finding short-term trading opportunities. The DRV is a measure of how much price energy is translated into a single direction. The DRV allows traders to maximize profits while keeping losses low. It goes to zero in markets that are choppy, 1 in strong uptrends, and 1 in heavily sinking markets. The DRV can run into problems in choppy markets with low volatility or in very volatile markets with strong price movement in one direction. The Volume-Price method is an update to classical volume analysis. The technique analyzes each countertrend move as it happens to determine if a turning point has occurred or if the trend will continue. Robert shows you how traders must know if there is a strong volume in the current period in order to know if there is a strong price movement in the following one.

The volume is growing due to a concerted effort by buyers and sellers. When volume is growing, the trick is to recognize it. Robert shows you how to use volume and price to make a determination.

Every countertrend price move is followed until it is confirmed by a secondary signal or the original trend is resumed. Some of the noise from price movements can be smoothed out by moving average systems.

The Time-Price method incorporates the best of both approaches into a system that distinguishes meaningful breakouts from those that are meaningless at the beginning of the countertrend movement. There are special price patterns that do not depend on the strength of the price movement.
