The sense of desperation in the audience went up as each speaker left the stage.

Why?

They were unintentionally being led into traps.

The number 1 is rap. – There is a pit of passivity.

When someone feels powerless, they experience themselves as passive.

Even if I knew what to do, I wouldn’t be able to do it.

When people have it, they tend to look outside themselves for help.

The person is sharing their knowledge with the best of their ability.

They don’t put what they’re learning into action because they think the power is outside them.

They think that it works for the expert, but there is something different about them.

The actions don’t see the light of day.

Do you listen to an audio programme, read a book, or attend an event and not take action?

If you are like me, you have fallen into the pit of passivity more than once. It is not your fault.

Being in the I can’t space was inevitable when you experienced it.

Fortunately, there is a way to get out of this trap. But first…

The rap number 2. – The expert has an illusion.

Someone who has found a way to accomplish something that works for them is called the expert.

They share what they did in good conscience because they know that if they did it, they would get the results they wanted. They are missing a crucial piece.

The expert came up with an approach that fits with their unique abilities, personality, beliefs, and life. There is one problem.

You are not them! Their approach isn’t a good fit for your unique abilities, personality style, and life.

A: How many times have you heard someone share a guaranteed, step-by-step process, and then fail to take the steps?

If you are anything like me, you have done it many times.

Again, it is not your fault. You were led to believe that the expert was correct.

If you can use your own power and process, someone else’s process will work for you.

There is an unexpected way out of this subtle trap.

There is a rap number 3. – Form over substance is the Folly of Form.

The experts at the event shared how they could use different forms to get out there and make a living.

They weren’t talking about the most important thing.
