The Path of Love is both a modern day transformational group process and an age old spiritual tradition of the heart made famous in our times by Sufi mysticism. Living the Path of Love is an 8-part course designed for both those new to Path of Love and those who are familiar with it.

The course consists of 4 core modules, 4 additional Q and A sessions, and a deeper dive into the material.

The first module is about longing (Rafia).

The idea of longing is introduced in the first module. We can respond to longing in the world in a healthy and effective way if we understand it.

Rafia guides students through an exploration of how longing works as inner guidance and how you recognise it, the difference between longing and desire, and how you can start to actualise it.

Pain of separation is module 2.

Turiya explores the pain of separation and its origins in our inner sense of disconnection from our true heart and innocent being in the second module. There are different ways in which the pain of separation can show up in your life, such as in the fear of being abandoned, being unhappy and dissatisfied with our life, constantly having to push oneself to go on and prove ourselves.

Turiya then goes on to explore how we can experience a sense of connection to our being such as after the birth of our child, in the face of death, or sometimes in very ordinary moments, when we are in nature, or when we have fallen in love, or when we are deeply absorbed by creative expression. Realising these moments is important because a sense of connection is often not recognized for what it is. The module culminates in a series of exercises to help identify and cultivate deep connection in our lives.

The third module is called Shadow (Rafia).

Rafia gives helpful explanations to help us identify shadow in our lives. He explains the importance of taking responsibility for our shadow and learning to metabolise and learn from it, and how if we don’t do this we will not be integrated in the expanded states of consciousness and energy that come in spiritual work.

Rafia introduces a series of exercises to help identify and work with one’s own shadow. Learning to identify, shadow, take responsibility, see the gifts of that part of ourselves, and integrate it is part of this. There is a guided meditation at the end of the module.

The fourth module is walking your talk.

Turiya explains why walking our talk is so important to our spiritual work. She shared the story of how she remembered when she received her name and looked into her teachers eyes, but that her life is now about realising and actualising that experience.

Turiya says that we have to be willing to make mistakes in order to confront the beautiful and truth of essential states. We don’t become real by running away from difficulties, we become real by understanding them. Being real leads to fulfilment, love, and satisfaction. What is real in us is what we have to bring forth. Being it, acting according to it, expressing it, and living it is what we have to do. The module ends with a powerful meditation and exploration of why prayer and celebration are important ingredients to sustain the spiritual pursuit.
