I want to know what options I have for creating a character.
Picture this. A 2 minute animation is what you have in your mind. You have the plot in your mind, it is a good story, and you have the main characters drawn and ready.
You know how to use After Effects because you went to Video Copilot.
The first option is a puppet tool.
If you put a couple of puppet pins in After Effects, you can move the character by changing the position of the pins. Right? It takes a lot of time to make that, it is quicker than drawing frame-by-frame, but still takes a lot of time.
The second option is to cut out animation.
The puppet tool technique can be used to split a character into different parts of the body. The limbs, the body, and the head. There is a separate layer. It takes a lot of time to make thatrig. It might be faster than classical animation, but it won’t be as fast as a few clicks and drags to change the position.
How can you make it fast?
The third option is advanced rigging.
You only have to make a few clicks and drags to change the position of your character, if you use a powerful rig that calculates everything for you.
It is very easy to remember when you played with toys.
Do you ever play with toys? If you wanted to raise the hand of your toy, all you had to do was raise it correctly. Imagine if it was simple.
