Frank Kern – List Control

I wanted to write a review after watching so many videos.

List Control is all about coming up with a potential niche, identifying personas, building the website, promoting it, and maintaining it. It is complete.

How well does it do it? I must say, it’s pretty well. He has the right focus across several key areas.

Frank says in one of the early videos of the program that the goal of promoting someone’s product via your list isn’t to be an affiliate, but to test the market for your own product. He knows where he is going. Before I started promoting Clickbank eBooks, I knew the criteria had to be something I could use to promote my own product.

I wonder if Frank makes the distinction between driving-to and selling products in his head, because the way the program transitions from driving-to to selling products is so smooth. The constant throughout is good will.

Good will. This shines through his entire program. They will do right to you if you do the customer right. The way Frank presents it, however, works. It works for very simple reasons.

Frank seems to have read a few books on influence. The original book on the six principles of influence by Robert Cialdini is a masterpiece. The parts of the program that seem to be in the program are very mild and in line with more scientific literature, so it works well.

As I write this, there are some higlights that come to mind.

You should understand that you want to sell your own products and have affiliates sell them.

There is an idea of forming a trade union. There was a good discussion on how to go about it.

The explanations of his tactics are what he calls the triangle of trust.

The discussions and highlight of what worked in about 4-5 other launches and products are valuable case studies.

The video he put together earlier this year was really good. He is thinking about the emotions he wants to evoke for his target market. It is a great idea to evoke emotions while creating text for websites of sales pages. I hope to share the process I use to do this for written pieces one day.

Building trust and understanding trust as a currency with your list subscribers is one of the ideas on building trust and understanding trust.

You have to ask Frank how much he knows about marketing to people outside of the internet marketing community. Frank has been very focused on the internet marketing market for the past few years and that takes away some punch from the program.

The program is very good. Unless you put it into practice, this doesn’t matter.

Is it worth $2K? It depends. It isn’t worth two cents if you don’t apply it. It might be worth it if you are going to use it.

Frank doesn’t cover a way of selling via mailing lists that I believe is just effective and does your readers not just good but awesome? I think it is a gem since I don’t see people doing it since they are focused on getting to their destination. I want to test this idea before I write about it in a future post, not to be a dickhead and leave you hanging.
