Unless your business is already generating a million dollars of annual revenue, the best business decision you can make is to learn how to implement online marketing yourself.

I had an idea, an old computer, and a desire to change my life.

The first info product I bought online was an ebook called How to Start a Yahoo Store by Andy Jenkins. I stumbled across the book when I was looking for books about home schooling. Someone wrote at the end of their listing, Discover how I learned to sell things online and make money too!

I read the sales page. It’s an ebook. I began to dream about what could be. I felt guilty as a missionary mom of a small child living in a 3rd world country. Starbucks. With money from the church. I wondered how my life would be different if I could just make $200 a month through the internet. As. Stay at home mom. I would have been able to get a job in the States if I had lived in a third world country. My husband agreed to invest that $47 into a new hobby after I shared the sales page with him. We thought from the beginning that if it doesn’t work, we will have a nice hobby. It is amazing. !

The first part of the book talks about how to determine the demand for a product online. It’s a search engine tool! Dropshipping, writing with the FAB method of copywriting, buying ppc ads, and how to drive traffic were some of the things I learned. I took a deep breath and dove in.

I remember the day I got my first sale. After opening my store for about 2 weeks, I was still in the process of uploading all of the products, writing product descriptions and figuring out when. There is a sale! I made a $30 profit selling a Coleman cooler. WOO-HOO! So exciting! We averaged $3,000 per month in sales within a few months.

With the profits I began to invest in my online marketing education and learn how to get my site ranked to the top of the search engines. After buying a course called Stomping the Search Engines and putting into action the things on the course, my site shot to the top of the search results and I began to rank for a very competitive term: camping gear! Our sales and traffic went through the roof.

I enjoyed helping others learn how to market their own sites even more after running my online store for several years. I launched Start Ranking Now in 2008 to give other business owners the same success I had.

Since 2008 I have helped hundreds of business owners increase their traffic and sales and as a result be able to hire more staff, take more time off, and begin to enjoy their business for the first time in their lives!
