T. Mychael Rambo is an actor, vocalist, arts educator and community organizer who lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He has made a mark in the Twin Cities, performing many principle roles at numerous theatres, including Penumbra, the Guthrie, Ordway Theatre, Illusion Theatre, Mixed Blood, Park Square Theatre, Children’s Theatre, Ten Thousand Things, Theatre Latte Da and Minnesota Opera. His stage credits include Carnegie Hall and performances in Africa, Europe and South America. He has appeared in several feature films, including The Cure, Justice, Crossing the Bridge and Wooley Boys, as well as in local and national television commercials. He is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts and Dance in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Rambo has released two popular CDs, Simply, a collection of jazz standards, and The Gift; A Christmas With Love, a selection of original and holiday classics. He sang the National Anthem for both President Barack Obama and former President Jimmy Carter. The 2010 Sally Award in Arts Education was presented to Mr. Rambo by the Ordway Theatre. The University of Minnesota Century Council Community Award and Outstanding Community Service Award are two of the many awards he has received.
The African American AIDS Project, African American Family Services, Peace House Foundation, Arm in Arm in Africa and the Urban League are some of the groups that Mr. Rambo works with. His great-aunt used to say, service is the rent due for living on this planet. Mr. Rambo has spent a lot of his professional life giving back as an arts activist and community organizer, seeking and engaging social change through the medium of theatre, performance art, spoken word and song. He believes that we are powerful agents of change. Through our creativity, personal efforts and life force, we can create the change we want to see in the world.

Marie Failinger is the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Law and Religion. She has served on the Executive Committees of the AALS Sections on Professional Responsibility, Law and Religion and Poverty Law, as well as the governing board of the National Equal Justice Library.
Her public service includes membership on several committees of Minnesota Women Lawyers and on the governing boards of Central Minnesota Legal Services, Church Innovations Institute, Lutheran Innovations and the American Indian Policy Center. She has published in legal and theological journals in professional responsibility, constitutional law, women’s issues, law and religion, and poverty law. Professor Failinger is a faculty member at the Valparaiso University School of Law. Prior to teaching, she was a managing attorney at the Legal Services Organization of Indiana.

Donald M. Lewis was the tenth Dean of the school. Dean Lewis co-founded Halleland, Lewis, Nilan & Johnson. He taught at the William Mitchell College of Law before he joined the faculty at Hamline. He returned to private practice at Halleland after stepping down as Dean at HUSL.
Dean Lewis was a trial lawyer. White-collar criminal defense and employment litigation have been the focus of his practice. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Law Institute, and a member of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Bar Association. Dean Lewis was a trial attorney in the U.S. and an assistant U.S. attorney in Minnesota.
The Department of Justice. Before co-founding Halleland, Lewis, Nilan & Johnson, he was an attorney at Popham Haik. Dean Lewis received a bachelor’s degree and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

The state public defense system in Minnesota has 700 lawyers and support staff who represent 175,000 clients a year. He was a trial court public defender for 12 years. Stuart taught at the National Defenders Leadership Institute and co-chaired the American Council of Chief Defenders. In Minnesota, he has worked on numerous statewide task forces dealing with racial fairness, drug and sex offenders sentencing, child welfare and juvenile justice. He was a volunteer law clerk for the Attica Brothers Legal Defense while he was at the State University of New York Law School at Buffalo. Stuart is still active in the justice system after retirement, working to create more drug courts and treatment programs for non-violent offenders as an alternative to jail time.
