Between 2003 and 2006 Dr. Terr collected 48 stories from child and adolescent psychiatrists. The child patient was doing poorly before the turning point. He or she changed for the better after that. Four aspects of dramatic changes that therapists can easily keep in mind are the therapist’s persona, the therapeutic atmosphere, the therapist’s correct read of the child, and the therapeutic reaction. Careful planning is required for many of these moments. Just as many develop in a link.
