Description
This is a description.
In brief therapy, changing mood and perspective is important. Experiential methods are more effective than traditional approaches. All art is an expression of itself. Whether drama, painting, literature, dance or music, altering mood and perspective is the point. Movies use different methods. The viewer is often unaware of how filmmakers exert influence. The way in which people are influenced is studied by social psychology. The areas of social psychology that are investigated to understand human responsiveness include contextual markers and demand characteristics. The practice of brief therapy can be improved by concepts from film and social psychology. The lens of the filmmaker and social psychologist will be explored in this workshop in order to understand Experiential clinical approaches.
The educational objectives are listed.
- To list three filmmaker methods that can be used in psychotherapy.
- Given a therapy goal, describe a method to make it more effective by appealing to the client’s visual system.
Session may be edited to preserve confidentiality.
