Animals are metaphors that are used to describe relationships, personal characteristics, etc. The presentation will show how animals and animal metaphors can be used in therapy. Attendees will develop an understanding of ATT and participate in a live demonstration of AAT through examples and discussion of the work.
The educational objectives are listed.
- Identify at least two appropriate uses of animal metaphors in therapy.
- Define “animal metaphor” as it applies to psychotherapy.
- List three reasons why the use of animals can shorten the number of sessions needed to achieve a positive therapeutic outcome.
