Description
This is a description.
There is a role that silence plays in the clinical process. The journey will begin with a discussion of structured and unstructured silence. Findings in neuroscience help explain why silence is a key ingredient in effective trance-formational processes, as well as an overview of research related to silence in psychotherapy. Attendees will engage in exercises that are designed to expand their awareness of the pivotal role that silence plays in healing and in so doing facilitate the conscious development of strategic interventions that utilize silence hypnotically to address a wide range of clinical issues.
The educational objectives are listed.
- Differentiate between structured and unstructured silence and demonstrate two ways to utilize structured silence in the hypnotic process.
- Explain how silence can be used to promote relationship both between therapist and client and within the client system and identify the techniques that can be utilized to facilitate this process.
