This presentation will show how therapeutic guidelines can be used to identify the source of a wide range of clinical problems. The American Psychiatric Association and the World Health Organization agree that EMDR therapy is an effective trauma treatment. There are 20 randomized studies that show positive effects of the eye movement component. The foundation for both mental and physical problems can be found in certain life experiences. Research shows that EMDR therapy addresses the basis of clinical symptoms. Potential problems in relationships and deficits in sense of self are included. Group exercises, case examples, research, and client videos will be used to demonstrate the procedures and treatment effects that foster personal and relational development.
