Description
This is a description.
People with histories of trauma, chaos or neglect are more likely to seek psychiatric care. Neurosciences, attachment research, and information processing show how brain function is shaped by experience, and that life itself can change perception and biology. The capacity for selfregulation and memory processing is affected by the changes in sub-cortical levels of the brain. The trauma’s memory imprints are held in bodily states and physical action patterns, which causes the entire human organism to automatically react to current experiences as a replay of the past. The workshop includes an introduction to the neuroscience of attachment, the nature of the threat response, attention, exploration and concentration, as well as lessons from neuroscience.
The educational objectives are listed.
- To describe how trauma shapes brain function.
- Given a client suffering from trauma, design a treatment using neuro-management.
Session may be edited to preserve confidentiality.
