Are You Ready for Rings One?

Can you do at least 5 solid pull-ups?

R1 is not a program for beginners.

The minimum strength level you need to make progress on Rings One is five solid pull-ups.

If the answer is yes, great!

R1 has two difficulty levels, Level A assumes an intermediate level of strength, and Level B is for people who are new to ring training.

If you can’t do five pull-ups yet. Before starting R1, we recommend Integral Strength.

If you are like most people who will visit this page, your first exposure to gymnastic rings was watching the Olympics and admiring the strength and power of elite gymnasts.

There is no chance of you jumping up on the rings and breaking an iron cross. Rings are hard. It’s hard.

1. Strength Development

Strength is the foundation of increasing your movement capabilities, so R1 begins by building your strength in the basic movements.

2. Skill Development

As you build strength, Phase 2 introduces more skill focus and complex movements that will help you develop balance and agility.

3. Flow Acquisition

We begin building combinations that offer even greater challenge and stimulation once you have developed the basic level of body control to execute each skill.

4. Flow “Mastery”

After several weeks of strength and skill practice, you will work to smooth out the transitions and cut down the rest time for more efficient applied movements.
