The Institute for Functional Medicine’s 15th Symposium: The Many Faces of Pain: Functional Models for Assessment and Treatment

Chronic or recurrent pain affects more than half of Americans, yet only about one-third say that prescription medications have helped them. The 15th International Symposium on Functional Medicine provided a comprehensive, high-definition view of pain, including critical assessments and treatment plans. The Preconference focused on the functional medicine model for the mechanisms of pain, while the Plenary presentations explored the origins of pain and the many ways we experience it. The Concurrent workshops speakers gave the most effective clinical skills for a variety of pain syndromes. The Symposium created a revolutionary approach to assessing, treating, and managing patients with pain, leading to better patient outcomes and satisfaction.

CD format versus MP3 CD format:
MP3 is a digital format that compresses audio files into small files. An average CD holds up to 80 minutes of sound, while an MP3 CD can hold up to 70 hours. The most important difference between CD’s and MP3’s is that MP3 CD’s are not compatible with most car stereos and newer home stereo systems that do not support MP3 files. They must be played on a computer or uploaded to an MP3 listening device.
