Janis Phelps is a doctor. He is the Director of the Psychedelic Therapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies Center. The first university accredited, post-graduate training program for psychedelic therapy and research was launched by Dr. Phelps as the Center’s founder. She is the Dean of the Faculty in the CIIS School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her journal of the year. Guidelines and Competencies for the Training of Psychedelic Therapists are being developed. Best practices in the academic training of medical and mental health professionals are described. The ideas are further developed in a chapter of the book. There have been advances in the field of Psychedelic Medicine. It was edited by Michael and Ben. Since the 1990’s, the Heffter Research Institute has conducted highly influential psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy research. A licensed clinical psychologist, she is a key contributor to the creation of a national accreditation board for psychedelic therapists and to methods of scaling effective training programs to meet the burgeoning need for well-trained mental health and medical professionals.
