The Master Instructor and author of Pillars of Power Yoga is luminescent and will lead this athletic and spiritual immersion into to the five core pillars of Baron Baptiste’s teaching including: Drishti or vision, breath, foundation, heat, and flow. Each week will start with an exercise. You will move into a 5-minute meditation practice. Your week will end with a signature power asana practice and a series of yoga poses for you to take on the go. There are 25 hours of Yoga Alliance non-contact continuing education credits for this course. This is a great time to take the Power Yoga course.
In. Pillars of power yoga. During the course, you will learn how to use yoga in a variety of ways including meditation, asana and inquiry. The five pillars of Baron Baptiste’s teaching are focus, breath, foundation, heat and finally flow. On and off the mat, these five topics fortify a yogi. The course is made for beginners and experienced yoga practitioners alike.
Each week there will be an introduction to why the topic is important to your yoga life. The meditation practice is easy to do and accessible for anyone. You don’t need a meditation practice to be more aware. A 30-minute asana practice with poses chosen to enhance the experience of focus is the second lesson. You will get a list of poses that are strung together and a to-go practice guide in order to connect with the intention of the week. To clear obstacles and unleash personal power, you will use the Baptiste methodology of inquiry to ask yourself questions that clarify what you need to do in life and on the mat. We filmed a live open-level class at Big Power Yoga in Houston, Texas. If you want to show off the sequence when you teach, scoop it and use that as your home practice class.
The way you practice yoga at home and how you incorporate yoga into your life will be changed by our master teacher. You will feel like a part of both the Yoga Journal and Baptiste communities with access to our exclusive online community.
