The lead clinical instructor at the South College School of Physician Assistant Studies is Mikala Riddlesworth, PA-C, who is also an assistant professor. She has been practicing medicine for 10 years and is focused on providing services in medically underserved communities. Mikala has created and spoken at multiple education conferences about skin conditions and treatment options. She is bringing her experience to primary care providers in order to improve access to care.
Mikala noticed the fear many providers have of skin issues after a year in family practice. She worked with a dermatologist in Atlanta, Georgia to learn more about skin conditions and techniques for skin treatments. She has treated hundreds of skin cancers during her career in rural communities. Her goal is to educate non-dermatology providers on simple procedures that can be performed to improve patient care so they can offer potentially life-saving treatments.
