This course is a re-enactment of a live class.
There are recordings of 36 live interactive webinars taught by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang.
This course introduces the theory and practice of Traditional Tibetan Medicine. The Tibetan Book of Health by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang is followed by reading transmission and commentary on the root Tantra. There is a person named Gyud Zhi. Students will be guided through a study.
The medical philosophy of Tibetans. There are five elements, three humors, balance of body, energy, mind and causes of balance.
The Tibetan art of diagnosis. Questioning of patient was done with observation, urine and pulse analysis.
There are five methods of treatment. Diet, lifestyle, herbal remedies, external therapies, spiritual healing.
The first year is pre-requisite for several multi-year Sowa Rigpa Institute programs.

Instructor
Nida Chenagtsang is a doctor. Dr. Nida Chenagtsang is a traditional Tibetan physician and holder of the Yuthok Nyingthig, the unique Vajrayana Buddhist spiritual healing tradition of Tibetan Medicine. He began his medical studies at the local Tibetan Medicine hospital in North Eastern Tibet and was awarded a scholarship to enter the Tibetan Medical University where he completed his medical education in 1996. Dr.Nida’s research and revival of ancient Tibetan healing methods has earned him great praise in both the East and the West. Dr.Nida is the founder of the Sowa Rigpa Institute and has trained students in over forty countries.
