R. Brian Denton is a Psy.D. He is a psychologist in Cleveland. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, a Master’s degree in clinical and psychology counseling from Cleveland State University, and a PhD in clinical psychology.
Dr. Denton received a PhD in buddhist studies from Buddha Dharma University. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Denton has traveled to a variety of training centers and monasteries around the United States and overseas to study meditation practices and their application to human psychological functioning. He was given transmission as a Zen Master. He uses his expertise in mental health to teach and lead meditation retreats.
The lead author of the chapter Clinical Uses ofMindfulness in Innovations in Clinical Practice was also the third author of the book Mindfulness in Clinical Practice. He has presented on a wide range of topics, and in particular for trainings around inclusion/diversity and sexuality.
