At the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Smith is an Associate Professor and Chief of Psychiatry, as well as a Founding Psychiatry Residency Program Director. The American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry certified Dr. Smith as a Psychiatrist.
After five years as the sole Psychiatrist in Washington County, Maine, Dr. Smith pursued other opportunities. The State Psychiatric Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire is where he is currently clinically active. The Clerkship Director of Psychiatry for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is a member of the Maine Board of Osteopathic Licensure. Dr. Smith has lectured at regional educational programs in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
