Susan G. Holmen is a LICSW. He has 35 years of experience in counseling, public speaking, program development and training. She has worked in Minnesota, Louisiana and North Carolina. The CMI Education Institute provided a seminar on substance abuse to fellow clinicians. She is in private practice, owns her own consulting and training business, and is an Adjunct Professor at St. Cloud State University.
Susan uses a variety of models in her work, including family systems theory, communications theory, 12-step and addiction models, motivational interviewing, and cognitive therapy. Alternative therapies include guided imagery, meditation, and artwork. Her areas of specialty are addictions and addictive behaviors, relationship dynamics, codependency/self-esteem, family of origin issues, work related issues, and spirituality.
