Founding Director of the UNE Center for Excellence in Aging & Health.
The Center forExcellence in Aging & Health at the University of New England was founded in September of last year and is focused on promoting applied human subject research. He teaches at the UNE College of Osteopathic Medicine. At two medical schools, he focused on Alzheimer’s disease. He directed the Gerontology Graduate Program at the University of Missouri for 11 years before moving to Maine. His research interests include driver fitness and transportation mobility in aging, reminiscence and life review interventions, and screening for cognitive impairment. He is known for his work on driving and is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America. He was raised in Connecticut and has a family in Maine.

Greg has worked in the field of community mental health and prevention in Maine for over 25 years as a clinician, clinical supervisor, manager and consultant. Since 2007, he has developed and presented training and education to support the needs of a diverse group of statewide partners in suicide prevention and systems integration of prevention activities. In Maine and New England, Greg has given presentations on suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, mental health and other topics. He has worked with schools, primary care practices, hospitals, and mental health programs to develop and integrate suicide prevention and management protocols.
