Varleisha D. Gibbs is a PhD student. An occupational therapist and author with 18 years of experience working with children and adolescents with neurological and sensory disorders. Universal Progressive Therapy, Inc. is a company that provides interdisciplinary and quality therapeutic services to families. She provided treatment interventions and education in the areas of sensory integration, as well as family-centered care. She wanted to provide family-centered care. She received her PhD from Seton Hall University, where she focused on racial health disparity of the Autism Spectrum diagnostic process. She received her masters degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University and her doctorate in occupational therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. He is the Vice President of Practice Engagement and Capacity Building at the American Occupational Therapy Association. She was the Scientific Programs officer at the American Occupational Therapy Foundation. She was an associate professor at the college where she was the director of the master’s programs in occupational therapy. She was the director of the PhD programs in occupational therapy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
Dr. Gibbs is an expert in the field of neurology, cognitive and therapeutic intervention. She provides training on sensory processing strategies and self-regulation to practitioners, parents, and teachers throughout the country and internationally. She is the author of the Self-Regulation andMindfulness program. There are exercises for Sensory Processing Disorder and other disorders. It was published in thePESI Publishing & Media. As a co-author. Raising kids with Sensory Processing Disorders. She has helped families understand and care for their children.

She is a senior Speech-Language Pathologist at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she provides evaluation and treatment services for adults and children with dysphagia and is involved in program planning and development for inpatient and outpatient programming including quality improvement initiatives, patient education, and clinical policies and protocols. She is an instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Elms College. She has lectured at several colleges and universities throughout Massachusetts and worked in a variety of clinical settings. As a sought-after speaker for both live and online continuing education courses, she blends current research with clinical experience. She received the award for clinical excellence from the Massachusetts Speech and Hearing Association.

April Christopherson is an occupational therapist. Over the course of 25 years, she has worked with diverse populations in a variety of settings. She is the owner of Exploration Kids Therapy. April worked for 10 years at The Shandy Clinic in Colorado Springs, CO, as the director of OT and director of training and development. She is a member of the clinical advisory board. She teaches continuing education courses to professionals at both Advanced Brain Technologies and Interactive Metronome. She has lectured on development and neuroscience around the world. St Ambrose University in Davenport, IA gave April her degrees in occupational therapy and psychology in 1991.
