What grade is needed to pass? 80% is the passing grade for all correspondence courses. Once you have passed the test, a certificate of completion will be sent.

How long will it take to complete? The C.H.E.K Institute recommends 20 hours.

This depends on the reasons the person is taking the course. Some people only need Continuing Education credits will watch the videos and pass the test. Some people who are interested in learning the information or taking it as a prerequisite for the CHEK Exercise Coach Program will watch the DVDs multiple times. It will take at least this long because there are over 7 hours of video in this course. We recommend that people spend 20 hours studying the course materials before taking the test.

Does this course have something in common with Scientific Back Training? No. Since back and abdominal musculature are considered part of the core of these courses, there is a small amount of overlap. Scientific Back Training focuses on quantitative assessments while Scientific Core Conditioning focuses on qualitative assessments. Scientific Back Training has exercises that focus on the back musculature while Scientific Core Conditioning has exercises that range from abdominal isolation exercises to dynamic core integration exercises.

There are many questions on the test. Is it hard? The first and second editions of this course have been successfully passed by thousands of people. Some people who don’t pass the test the first time get a chance to correct their mistakes after the test is graded and sent back to them. The benefit of having a DVD correspondence course is that you can watch the video as many times as you need until you understand the material. The amount of time one spends watching the videos and reading the manual is what determines successful completion of this course.

Will DVD players outside of North America play the discs? The C.H.E.K Institute DVDs are formatted for Region 0, which means they will play in all DVD players regardless of country of origin, unless the player is an older model, which is generally considered to be more than five years old. If you have an older player, you may need to upgrade to a newer model.
