It is not well known in the West. Taoist meditation techniques are not taught in most of the books related to Taoism.
Taoist meditation has never been accepted as mainstream. The Taoist meditation tradition has existed in monasteries in Western China for thousands of years and is one of the deepest spiritual systems on the planet.
I learned it from someone who shared it with me. When I asked my teacher why he didn’t teach Taoist meditation, he said there were very few who wanted to learn.
In the West, more and more people are turning to meditation for stress relief, peace of mind and for spirituality. Taoist values of balance, peace and connection to nature are reflected in more.
What is the Taoist Meditation Circle?
Those who already understand the importance of meditation and would like guidance in doing a practice can join the Taoist Meditation Circle. It is an online group to learn the preliminary practices required to be successful with any meditation system, but mainly my focus will be to teach you the techniques within Taoist meditation, because that is the tradition I am responsible for.
You will get two meditation practice sessions every month. You can either listen to them on your computer or download them onto your mp3 player. You want to practice each meditation for two weeks.
