The world of psychotherapy was changed by the novel and effective approach of Milton H. Erickson. His approach was called Ericksonian Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. His ideas inspired many professionals and became the basis of many new schools of brief therapy, including strategic therapy, interactional therapy, Rossi’s mind/body approach, solution-focused therapy, NLP, outcome-oriented therapy, and the self-relations approach. A picture of the man was thought to be the Mozart of communication, and this documentary explores his life and work.

His work continues to spread around the world despite his death in 1980. The film takes a look at how today’s leading professionals in the field are building on Erickson’s ideas, how he has influenced their way of working, and how they envision the future of psychotherapy.

Alexander Vesely is a licensed therapist in Vienna, Austria. He worked as a director and production assistant at film academies in Vienna and New York. In the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, he teaches seminars on film and psychotherapy. He is the founder and director of the media archive. He is a director of short films, commercials, and documentary films with his production company.
