As close to a live experience of Feldenkrais’s teaching as you can get today, the South Bend workshop with him. There is only one Feldenkrais workshop taught for the public that has a video image and audio. It’s wonderful to see how the movement experiments are interwoven with the ideas that are at the core of the Feldenkrais Method. The DVD is recommended for people with prior Awareness Through Movement experience.

The years of 1980 and 1981 were some of the most creative and generative years in Dr. Feldenkrais teaching career. In 1980, a two and a half day weekend workshop was conducted in South Bend, Indiana. The workshop is geared to the beginning student and will offer new perspectives for more experienced students at all levels. It is fascinating to see how a group with a wide range of abilities and ages can be brought to a level where they are able to successfully perform challenging Awareness Through Movement lessons. Throughout the weekend, he weaves his wide ranging ideas about human potential, learning, psychology, development and the plasticity of the brain, with his movement lessons. Though the video picture is mostly black and white and not up to today’s standards, it is still clear and easy to follow, and the audio quality is very good. The only public workshop taught by Dr. Feldenkrais is in South Bend.
