We want to make a simple idea out of what we have been looking at. You have been doing regression work, and you have noticed that a lot of who you are today is not the same as who you used to be. We want to see if we can pull it together, because we have been working on it in different ways.
You become aware of how much you project a dream onto reality as you begin to see how much you have a dream. From time to time, you project that dream onto reality. I would like for us to know that we are always living in this dream.
We experience almost nothing new at this point in our lives. You can meet new people, you can go to new places, but you are projecting onto old people and old places. You don’t experience innocence very often. It is almost impossible for you to be random because you respond the way you have responded in the past.
We are going to use a technique called intuitive regression, in which we start with an experience from the moment, from the present, and then trace it back to a memory from our childhood. As you work on this technique, you will see that the emotions we experience most of the time are coming from the past, not the present. If they are not coming from today, but from a time past, there is no reason to be tied up in the emotions.
We are going to see as we look at these emotions more and more that they are actually fear. You know that there are times when it is not fear. The lack of fear is what it is. It seems like a strange way to define it, but it is similar to how all colors relate to light. You shine a white light, a clear light, through a prism and it will break into the different colors of the rainbow. If you turn off the light, you will have darkness or blackness. All colors are variations of white. We can say that all emotions are variations of fear, fear of one kind or another, efforts to avoid fear, success in that avoidance. There is worry about survival if you look at things the same way.
You should learn to be open to the fact that you should find out how old you are when you get angry. What age do you think you are? Find out how old you are when you are sad. You will find out that you have a memory. If you find out how old you are, you will be able to remember.
You are flickering back and forth from one memory to another. One moment you are three years old, one moment you are three months old, the next moment you are six months old, the next moment you are four years old, and back and forth. Unless you watch these things, you are a victim of your own movies. It makes it easier for you to watch, because you are going to be less involved, less identified, once you start becoming aware of the fact that this old dream is there, and that you are constantly projecting it onto the present.
You start to wonder who you are. You wonder who the person would be if the memory wasn’t there, if everything that you are experiencing is a memory. This is the beginning of the spiritual search, to find out who you really are. You will have a question mark. Maybe it can’t be answered, maybe it won’t be. This will lead to truth.
Something else will become apparent to you when you start using this approach. There is an emotion present before there is a reason for it to be present. When you wake up in the morning, you just feel defeated, it is the closest example of this. It is not the world that is making you feel defeated, but the fact that you have just gotten up. Maybe you are aware of it. Your logical mind says there must be a reason why you feel defeated. You look around. I don’t have enough freedom, I’m not getting anyplace at my job, my relationship isn’t what I want it to be, and I’m not earning enough money. First, defeat is there. The real reason will be found after you find it. You will have to project it onto something. It will be logical to project it onto something in the present. Unless you’ve worked on yourself, you won’t assume it’s a memory from birth.
The first thing you will notice is that the feelings will be there first, and then you will find a reason for them. You are going to see that the present moment is not threatening, is not producing tension, is not producing these negative feelings once you start seeing that the feelings are actually coming from memories. You will identify with the movie less and less as you watch it.
You don’t have to work with all of these things as you start to notice that you are living in a kind of regressed state. Just watch. We will trace a feeling back to its roots by working with these memories. We will do this many times so that we can show you that these feelings are coming from your memories. It is no longer necessary to trace each thing back in that way after you have done this a few times. After a while, you will know it’s coming from the past.
As you watch this drama that is happening at the subconscious level, projecting itself onto the present, you will become more and more the watcher. It will be an interesting movie, just like any other movie. You start looking at yourself the same way you would look at someone else.
You don’t have to work constantly at reprogramming or deprogramming. This is important in the beginning. We will be doing deprogramming in the beginning. The computer starts to understand that it is possible and that the old movies are not harmful. It will become less and less necessary to work each thing through back to the roots if you watch your own dream or movie more and more. After a while, the awareness of that will be enough.
When you notice yourself having a strong emotion, be very careful and aware. It can be a positive emotion and not have to be negative. If you have a strong emotion, use the pendulum to ask yourself, How old am I right now? or How old am I feeling? You are going to see how much memory you have when you do this again and again during the day.
This may sound very strange. It seems normal because everybody lives in the dream. Everybody in the dream is dreaming that they are awake. Everyone has been dreaming that they are awake. You are going to become more and more quiet when you see how much you are coming from memory. You are also going to become more joyful. You will be more and more in the moment. The moment is not creating much sadness, the moment is not creating anger, the moment is not creating fear, and the moment is not creating greed.
All of these things come from memories of a time when we were powerless. The key is this. The feelings of dependency and helplessness are due to the fact that we were all born in a helpless body. We are going to see as we trace these things back that they are based on fear of not surviving. We are going to see that these things are irrelevant. It’s not wrong, but irrelevant.
If you’ve ever worked on past lives, you’ll know that if something happens in a lifetime when you lived in 1810, there’s nothing you can do about it. You are going to drop it because it is gone. It is irrelevant. It’s irrelevant because you’re living in a different life. It’s easy to let go of things that come up during past life sessions. You realize that there is nothing you can do about it. What to do about your mother in that life? What can you do about it? You and your mother are gone, that life is gone. There isn’t anything to do, it’s irrelevant now. You can let it go.
The past life and birth memories are the same. You didn’t exist at your birth. The mother that existed at your birth is no longer around. The world that existed when you were born doesn’t exist anymore. We need to see that the memories of our birth are no longer relevant. The memories of this life are just as irrelevant as the memories of a past life. It would be easier if we could see everything as a past life. It is a past life if you see yesterday. Last week was a past life. Don’t identify with it anymore. I don’t know who that guy was. That was not a new life. What can I do about it? Just let it go.
We need to not identify with what has happened before. We need to put our memories in their proper perspective so that we can be available to this moment. We are not available to reality if we are caught up in the dream. This dream is happening at the subconscious level, where we project onto reality and onto the conscious level, so that we think we are awake. It’s not like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it We are dreaming. We project onto the rain memories of other rains, even though we see the trees. Rain attitudes from earlier times are projected. Our desires and fears come from earlier memories. We don’t really experience the rain as it is, in an innocent way, but we experience it through previous experiences.
We would like to watch this. We are going to see that we become more and more available to the people we really are as we watch this. You will be able to see other people’s dreams. It is easier to know what other people are dreaming if you become aware that you are dreaming. It helps you see that there is no need for you to be afraid of other people because they are going through the same thing that you are going through. They are concerned about their survival. They are feeling weak and dependent. Everyone has a different way to compensate for that.
Try to think differently. Try to look at things in a different way. There is a dream that is happening at the subconscious level. Whenever anything strong happens to you during the day, or even something that is not so strong, just ask yourself, using the pendulum, How old are you right now? You are going to see how much you remember. You are going to be more and more in the here and now if you let go of these memories.
What is the question? I fear being empty because I see myself being in a memory in the past a lot.
Jeru: This fear of being empty isn’t coming from here or now. It’s also coming from a memory. It is understandable. When you were born, they put some long underwear on you, and as you grow bigger, the long underwear gets more and more frazzled, and you are so attatched to it, that you want to keep it. As you grow older and become an adult, you are completely identified with this. You think if you give it up, you will die, because you are so identified with it, even though it is a mess, dirty, and stinks. You have forgotten that it is not you. You don’t remember that this piece was put on you. A part of you will say, Yes, but I can’t give that up. if someone says to you, Well, your problem is just old, dirty long underwear. If I give up that, what will I do? Who will I be if I give up? I don’t know what will happen if I give up. I could disappear. Maybe it is the long underwear that keeps me together.
This feeling is very understandable and natural. You have to see where the feeling is coming from. It isn’t coming from truth. It isn’t coming from reality. Do you think someone else would disappear if they gave up their defense? You think you might disappear. That is how it is.
This is how it is. We know that it is okay for other people to give up their defense mechanisms, and that they will not disappear if they do. Our subconscious thinks that if I give up my armor, who will I be? If I give up the armor, what will be there? It is a very good question. It’s fun to find out who we will be when we give up the armor.
You see that you are taking care of yourself when you start dropping the idea that you can’t take care of yourself. You can see nature and Existence from this space of relaxation. You will see that it is very benevolent when you do that. The universe supports everything in it, including you. You begin to trust more and more. If you relax, everything will be okay.
This can come from looking. From intelligent looking, not convincing yourself of something. It is more important to know that already existence is beating your heart than it is to have money in the bank. If your heart isn’t beating, having money in the bank doesn’t do you much good. Existence is breathing for you even when you are asleep. It gives you intelligence and digests your food for you. You begin to see how much Existence is taking care of you. It’s not like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it’s like it It is easier to trust the facts once you see them. After a while, you can realize that the defense mechanisms are not helping you. The defense mechanisms are not helping you. Holding on to them would be like trying to swim in a body of water. Trying to be beautiful and elegant is loaded down with eighty pounds of iron.
Let go gets easier as we look at these things more and more. You don’t need to make an effort at it. Awareness is the only real effort required. That is the only thing that requires a lot of effort. It can come from watching.
What is the question? If you want to see the silence that is slowly coming on everybody here, you need to be addicted to excitement. Everybody is silent as I walk into the dining room. It makes me uneasy. I like excitement. How are you in the program?
Jeru: First, trace the need for excitement back to its roots. That is the most important thing. Where did you come up with the idea of excitement? You need to find out how old you were. In whatever was going on, the key element was your dependency and your inability. Maybe there was something exciting going on in the family that made you feel safe. When there was excitement, someone was taking care of you. There are many reasons. It’s important for you to look at that and figure out what dream you’re dreaming of. It won’t work to deal with this at a rational level. It doesn’t help to say, I am addicted to excitement. The system thinks you need excitement. It will be found in your infancy.
What is the question? Do you start by asking what age you are, and then ask what is happening?
Jeru: We are going to show you the intuitive regression technique today. It’s possible to use that whenever you need excitement. A lot of people like this. It is not unusual. Find out how old you were when this idea started, what the circumstances were, and why you felt it was necessary. It made sense at that time. The key elements that were present there no longer exist. Everything about that experience is no longer relevant. It is a different world today than it was in.
What is the question? It’s like I’m seeing it as zombies versus life, but I know this is my rational mind.
