Conservative or reform?

Reform Judaism. It is possible to coexist with those who live in modern times. Reform Judaism has allowed the Jewish people to introduce more liberal ideas into the religion while preserving tradition.

Reform Judaism believes that we are all partners in improving the world. Judaism’s core values of God, Torah and Israel are accepted by Reform Judaism. Reform Jews see the Torah as a living document that allows them to confront the challenges of their everyday lives.

Reform Jews are committed to the principle of inclusion. If the child is a child of a Jewish father or mother, Reform Jews consider them to be Jewish.

Reform Jews are committed to equality of women and people in all areas of Jewish life. The first movement to ordain women rabbis, invest women cantors, elect women presidents of synagogues, and welcome the full participation of gays and lesbians in synagogue life was Reform Judaism.

Reform Judaism allows its members to practice Jewish rituals and holidays as they please in their community and society.

Conservative Judaism. Conservative means that Jews should try. It’s important to conserve. There is a Jewish tradition. Conservative Judaism says that the Torah and the Talmud are of divine origin.

Modern scholarship that shows Jewish writings were completed under the influence of other cultures is accepted by the Conservative movement.

As long as the belief remains centered around the core values of Judaism, Conservative Judaism believes in applying modern interpretation to the Torah and Talmud. These are the seven core values.

The importance of Israel. Hebrew is the language of Jewish expression. To the ideals of the Jewish community. The defining role of Torah. The study of Torah. Halakha wrote The Governance of Jewish Life. Belief in God.

Conservative Judaism doesn’t mean that all Jews have to live in Israel. Maintaining the sense of Jewish Community and adhering to its laws is the most important way to live a Jewish life.
