Murray Charteris

Murray Charteris was born in 1972. Murray is best known for his vibrant, illustrative paintings, but he also has experience in digital art and animation. He administered his own gallery in Hervey Bay between 2007 and 2011. Murray had gallery representation in two places.

Murray Charteris has a reputation for his energy filled art. His bold colors and powerful compositions come together to produce stunning artwork that is increasingly sought after.

Murray started painting when he was young and has been painting ever since. Murray has made a successful career from his animation skills, creating 3D computer animation and special effects for television commercials and programs both in Australia and overseas.

Murray gained a reputation for his design after working with Australia’s leading television network Channel Nine. Murray led a very strong videographics team for nearly 12 years after he was placed in charge of the department in 1997. Murray won a gold medal in the New York Festivals and was a finalist in the Australian Effects and Animation Festival.

Murray has always been drawing and painting. Murray worked as a full-time artist after moving to Hervey Bay in 2007. New worlds that could only have existed in my imagination are what I love to create. I like to create a feeling of energy and motion in my art.
