The book starts with a review of excel functions that are most relevant for building intermediate and advanced level models, based on the authors extensive experience of building models in business and finance, and of training others how to do so. Before covering key application areas such as the modelling of financial statements, of cash flow valuation, risk analysis, options and real options, it discusses the principles involved in designing, structuring and building relevant, accurate and readily understandable models. VBA is used for financial modelling. Model examples are included in the attached CD–ROM.
The book is aimed at intermediate and advanced level modellers in excel who wish to extend and consolidate their knowledge.
Michael has 20 years of business and finance experience, which includes roles at the strategy consultants and J.P. Morgan. For 6 of the 8 years he has worked independently, he was retained by Palisade Corporation to act as their Director of Training and consulting.
His academic credentials include a PhD in mathematical modelling and a B.A. in mathematics from Oxford University. He graduated top of the course for class work and received the highest final exam mark in the Quantitative Finance course at INSEAD in France.
