In 1983 Roy Yates received the B.S.E. degree, and in 1986 and 1990 he received the S.M. and Ph.D. degrees. He has been with the ECE department at Rutgers University since 1990. He is a professor in the ECE Dept. and an associate director of WINLAB. He is an author of the text. Probability and Stochastic Processes is a good introduction for electrical and computer engineers. It is in the third edition. He is a recipient of several awards, including the best paper award for the 2006 Wireless Communications Symposium, as well as the 2011 Rutgers University Teacher-Scholar award.
