I’m Josh Earl.
I found myself getting frustrated and fed up with my email marketing when I was just cutting my teeth as an online entrepreneur.
I was sold on the value of having an email list.
After launching my first product, I realized that more than half of my sales came from email.
I put all of my attention into getting as many people on my email list as possible after that.
My list started growing like a snowball after I added hundreds of new people each month.
I took a break from everything and realized I had a new problem.
What would I do with all of these email subscribers?
I just did what everyone else was doing and shared my posts with my list.
I would share an update about the product I was selling.
It’s kindergarten stuff, really.
I caught on to the fact that this simplistic approach doesn’t do much more than keep your list idling.
It wasn’t enough to get my email subscribers to buy from me.
I still remember how hard it was to send out emails and get no sales.
When you don’t know why you’re rejected, it really sucks.
I got wrapped around the axel as time went on.
I wouldn’t email my subscribers because I didn’t have a clear plan.
Every time I would sit down to write an email, I would find myself messing around with the theme on my website, or checking my sales numbers over and over again.
Anything to not put words on the screen.
I can see why I fell into this pattern.
It takes more than a little audacity and even courage to hit SEND and blast a message out to hundreds of strangers.
The doubts crowd is in.
Is my email boring?
What if my subscribers don’t like what I’ve written?
There is additional, er, uneasiness that comes with selling.
Let’s be honest.
You don’t like shilling your products like a carnival barker if you’re halfway normal.
You can start to feel like you are just trying to get people to subscribe to your mailing list.
How selfish of you.
Your subscribers are smart. They will see your naked self interest.
They will lump you in with the sleazy spammers who sell cheap pills to fix your manhood.
It doesn’t matter if you’re the farthest thing from a spammer.
If you put a lot of work into your product, it will solve a real problem and make your customer’s lives better.

While this was going on, I was also reading a lot of email marketing posts.
I discovered one thing.
Knowledge isn’t always power.
I became confused and paralyzed the more I learned.
I didn’t know what format to use for my emails.

What not to include?
I was supposed to pitch my products.
I would freeze up when I sat down to write my brain was filled with conflicting advice, opinions and tactics.
Here is what I eventually realized.
The marketing tactics and copywriting tricks I was studying were mostly noise.
A few core principles are all you need to write engaging emails.
I focused more on those ideas and ways of thinking.
The habit of practicing them was developed.
I didn’t have a lot of trouble coming up with what to say.
I started to see ideas for emails everywhere I looked.
When I was minding my own business, an email idea would pop into my head that I knew my audience would love.
I would love to share this idea with my subscribers.
It felt less like writing and more like sitting down to pound out an email.
More and more like that.
I don’t worry about what to say or how to write about it.
I have more ideas than I could ever use.

I learned the hard way that more information got in the way and made it harder for me to write good emails, while there are lots of great books and courses out there about email copywriting approaches and email marketing tactics.
The focus of this workshop is The process can be simplified. so you can Immediate action must be taken. and actually start to Write better emails. and make more sales.
It will be very hands-on and practical since it is a workshop format.
I will show you how to apply the same formula to your own emails that I use for 80% of my emails.
You can develop a sixth sense for email ideas with some exercises. In order to effectively pitch your product or service, you need to find ideas and shape them into emails.
Each of the four week modules begins with a video lesson that covers the core ideas and concepts you will be applying.
The daily action step should take 30 minutes most days. I have some ideas on how to keep this fun and keep your motivation high.
I do a bonus session once a week where I walk through student submissions and highlight areas for improvement.
You can get your questions answered via email throughout the workshop.
You will get support, feedback and encouragement from me and your fellow students in a private forum.
When I took classes like this in the past, I found that I learned more from observing other students than I did from the facilitators. You will see what your fellow students are doing in their businesses, as well as the guidance they are getting from me and other students.
