Go back to the disgruntled employee. Just a few years ago, I was like Jen. I was tired of being controlled by someone else and working for someone else. I was a Sales Manager who was responsible for bringing in millions of dollars a year but only made $55,000 a year plus a few bonuses. I knew I was worth more than that.

I absolutely do. HATED. Working for someone else. I was tired of working nights and weekends for a company that didn’t appreciate me, and I was missing out on important events in my family’s lives.

Knowing that I wanted to work for myself where I could be in control of my income, the hours I worked and have the flexibility to be there for my family, I started spending every extra second I had learning about different businesses and which one would be the best fit for me. After landing on a business I absolutely loved, I was able to get it up and running. We started a consulting and training business for new entrepreneurs. This is where Jen came in.

Wanting to help her, I started doing things for her, like what I do for many of my consulting clients, and I started sending her daily business training. As I sent her more training over the coming weeks and months, we worked together to fine tune it and make it special for her to start a Network Marketing business.

Within a couple of weeks, Jen had added a couple of people to her Network Marketing team as a result of the training and action steps I gave her. Jen built a very admirable team of over 30 new team members over the course of the next couple of months. When she added people to her team, she would call and ask if I would start sending her new team members the training I had given her.

We kept the training going for the rest of the year, but on a slightly less frequent basis to allow for the completion of certain tasks. She went on to build a large, very successful and very profitable Network Marketing team of just over 400 team members and was making over $125,000/year from her business.

What was the difference between what I had and what Jen was doing? Why did my help work well for Jen?

I took a completely different approach than Jen did. Jen was trying to build her team by doing what she was told to do. She invited people to come to her house, sit through a long presentation full of hype, and then at the end she told them that she wanted them to join her business. This approach has turned people off for a long time, but it was all she knew to do.

When the old presentation method was used, the business environment was very different. New resources have changed the way people receive information and get excited about opportunities.

I make my living as an internet marketer by using the best resources that we have available on the internet. I showed Jen how to use those resources to get people to join her team. It worked quickly.
