The therapists are unlikely to be helpful because they frequently work with the wrong person. Research supports that you work with the person that brings the problem to you, not the identified patient. Positive gains can be achieved by working around the child or adolescent’s problem and focusing on how they are a problem for the teacher or parent. The workshop will show how to use the consultation process. DVD examples of actual sessions will be used to show how short-term is possible with this approach.
