Description

This is a description.

The Generative Psychotherapy approach assumes that each core human experience has equivalent potential to be positive or negative, depending on the human relationship to it. There are two levels to this process: 1) developing a generative state in the therapist, client, and relationship field and 2) using specific methods of transforming negative experiences and behaviors. An exercise and demonstration will be given along with multiple techniques and examples.

The educational objectives are listed.

  1. Identify three major types of negative responses that will block therapeutic change.
  2. Identify three methods for transforming these negative responses to positive resources.
  3. Identify the four major communication methods for positively welcoming a negative experience.

Session may be edited to preserve confidentiality.
