Udaya – Sita Devi Classes

She is a kirtan artist and ecstatic dance facilitation. She has chosen to make it her life’s purpose because she feels the divine channel so deeply and intensely. She has a degree in dance from the University of California Santa Barbara and is a professional dancer. She has been teaching yoga for 10 years and has been registered with the Yoga Alliance for 500 hours. When she completed her 500 training, she began teaching at Bhakti Yoga Shala, in Santa Monica, California, where she developed her skills as a teacher and kirtan leader under the guidance of her beloved teacher and friend. She taught at yoga festivals and conferences all over the world. A weekly community kirtan is held at the Yoga Tree in Berkeley California. There is a dance retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii. As a Kirtan Walli, she sings and plays harmonium, guitar, kartals and mrdanga and has performed live with Jai Uttal, Donna DeLory, Arjun Baba, Jaya Lakshimi and Ananda.

At the San Francisco Yoga Journal Conference, she taught Beloved, Earthdance, and yoga Rocks the Park. Janet Stone accompanies her in teacher trainings, retreats and weekly classes. She offers live chanting in classes, as well as workshops and kirtans with the groups. She has accompanied yoga classes for Shiva Rea, Baron Bapiste, Saul David Raye, Sianna Sherman, Eion Finn, Annie Carpenter, Micheline Berry, Elena Brower, William Duprey, and Julie Mitchell.

She wants to make it easy for everyone to learn this heart opening practice. She wants to make Bhakti, devotional service, something that anyone can do, without limitation, expectation, discrimination or judgement. All beings are supposed to experience divine love and light in the service.
