Many people don’t know how to work Chi Sao, they don’t know if they have to train with pressure or lightly get highly reactive reactions. The answer is to train both.

Sifu Fernandez goes into great detail about the benefits of both types of training and how they benefited him in his security work. He shows the advantages and disadvantages of training only one method.

This lesson shows how to train them both and why they are of paramount importance not to neglect one or the other, as well as explaining why certain lineages differ from one to another.

There are times when you need to work with pressure and learn how to use your whole body to get results and other times where the ranges will allow quick lightning reflexes which will take your opponent by surprise closing the distance on him before he knows what happened.

The lesson points out that you should be well on your way to being able to counter and divert attacks. It should teach you how to apply Wing Chun in combat in a global way, and that you are free from being bound by fixed positions.
